President: Maureen Brophy
Maureen is a 2nd year PhD student studying the genetic variation and microbiome of the brown dog tick, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, in the southwestern US and northern Mexico where it is capable of transmitting Rocky Mountain spotted fever (Rickettsia rickettsii). With a background in public health, she is interested in vector ecology and biological determinants of vector competence. She spends her free time running, hiking, and hanging out with her dogs.

Social Chair: Greg Chism
Greg is a second year PhD student working with Dr. Anna Dornhaus on the influence of nest architecture on the ant Temnothorax rugatulus. Specifically, he is interested in how the shape of the nest can be characterized by human architectural theory, which could predict how ants utilize their nest spaces. Greg's background is in behavioral ecology, where he is motivated with questions that involve how individuals can contribute to the collective behaviors in groups. He spends any free time fishing, hiking, and participating in community outreach.
